How does the GPS location work on the smartwatch?
When starting up for the first time, it may take a little longer for the smartwatch to establish a good GPS connection. We recommend doing this outside for the best reception.
The smartwatch determines location in three ways:
- GPS (most accurate) – Works best outdoors and requires sufficient mobile data on the SIM card. This gives the most precise location with a small deviation of 10-100 meters.
- WiFi Location – If there is no good GPS signal, the smartwatch will switch to public WiFi hotspots (not your home WiFi). This is less accurate than GPS.
- LBS location (least accurate) – When there is little to no mobile data available, the smartwatch uses cell towers (LBS) to determine a location. This can be off by kilometers.
Important:
Make sure there is enough mobile data on the SIM card so that the smartwatch can continue to use GPS.
Check and reload the data regularly to avoid inaccurate locations.
